Grade 2 students explored the Value of the Month “Perseverance’’ through a blend of interactive and reflective classroom activities. The learning began with the activity “Pass the Smile,” in Life Skills, where students passed around a smile while sharing polite words such as please, sorry, and thank you. They also participated in short role plays, acting out everyday situations like asking for a pencil or apologizing to a friend. Through these exercises, they not only learnt the importance of using courteous language but also understood how consistent effort and positive behaviour help build a harmonious classroom environment.
In another engaging Maths activity, students worked with colourful fraction kits to explore mathematical concepts in a fun, hands-on way. They experimented with pieces of circles to form and identify fractions such as halves, thirds, and fourths. The process encouraged them to think critically, try different combinations, and self-correct when needed. Each child showed remarkable focus and determination to complete the task successfully.
Through these experiences, learners discovered that perseverance is not just about not giving up but about staying patient, trying again, and learning from mistakes. These activities helped them connect values with real-life learning in meaningful ways.
