Grade 2: Value of the Month (Nov)

Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another, and feeling with the heart of another.

With this spirit, Grade 2 students of Sparsh Global School participated in two joyful and meaningful activities that beautifully blended creativity, language learning, and the Value of the Month – Empathy.

In English, the young learners engaged in the thoughtful “Thank an Inventor” activity. Each child selected an inventor and wrote a heartfelt thank-you card explaining how the invention helps people in their daily lives. These expressive cards were proudly displayed on a special “Wall of Appreciation,” encouraging students to acknowledge others’ contributions and understand how inventions improve the world. This activity not only strengthened their writing skills but also nurtured gratitude, awareness, and empathy.

In Hindi, students enthusiastically took part in “Visheshan ki Rangoli.” They designed bright, colourful, and imaginative rangolis, and then described their artwork using meaningful visheshan (adjectives) such as sundar, rang-birangi, chamakdaar, and saaf-sutri. While admiring each other’s rangolis, they used kind, appreciative, and encouraging language, demonstrating empathy through supportive communication.

Together, both activities created a warm and thoughtful learning environment where children celebrated creativity, valued others’ efforts, and grew emotionally as well as academically.
