Grade 2 students explored the habit “Begin with the End in Mind” through engaging activities that highlighted the importance of setting goals and working purposefully towards them. This habit encourages children to plan and act with clear intention.
During circle time, interactive games such as Freeze Dance and Stacking the Stuff challenged students to focus on specific goals—freezing instantly or balancing objects—thereby strengthening their self-control and strategic thinking.
The Magic Balloon experiment added a scientific twist, as students predicted outcomes and observed how mixing baking soda with vinegar produces a gas that inflates a balloon. This hands-on experience not only reinforced their understanding of scientific reactions but also emphasized the value of planning each step in advance.
In the Desert Survival Kit writing task, students imagined themselves on an adventure, carefully choosing essential items and justifying their selections. This activity encouraged thoughtful decision-making and responsibility.
Through these activities, students learned to visualize their goals, make wise choices, and take ownership of their actions—bringing the habit “Begin with the End in Mind” to life in practical and meaningful ways.
