Science begins with curiosity, and every question opens the door to wonder.
Grade 2 students had an exciting and engaging Discovery Hour, where they explored two fascinating hands-on experiments. Their eyes lit up with amazement as they watched a delicate paper butterfly “come to life” through ‘static electricity’. After rubbing a balloon on their hair, they brought it close to the butterfly and watched its wings flutter as if it were ready to fly. The unseen pull of electric charges left them curious and eager to understand more.
In another joyful activity, students created their very own ‘wind vanes’ using simple materials like a pencil, straw, and cardboard. They observed how the vane moved with the wind and learned about ‘cardinal directions’ in a fun, interactive way.
Both experiments turned the classroom into a space full of wonder, learning, and excitement. Our young scientists participated enthusiastically, asked thoughtful questions, and discovered the joy of exploring the world around them!
