"Learning becomes magical when curiosity meets discovery!"
Our Grade 2 students turned into little scientists during this week’s Discovery Hour as they explored the magnetic property of attraction through an engaging hands-on experiment. Using a magnet, a beaker of water, a floating leaf, and a safety pin, students observed how magnetic force can pass through non-magnetic material like water even without touching!
As the magnet moved closer, the safety pin on the leaf floated and followed the magnetic pull, helping children visualize the invisible force at work. Through this simple yet fascinating activity, they learned that only magnetic materials such as iron and steel respond to magnets, and that magnetism can act through air, water, and some solids.
This exciting experiment made science come alive for our young learners, inspiring curiosity, observation, and a love for discovery!
